Create your own jukebox

Music jukebox
These days personal computers can be used for more than games and word processing. You can store music on your desktop or notebook and use it as a jukebox – either at home or on the move. There are lots of websites that let you download music for free, or for a small fee.
The trouble is that music files are very large, usually around 30 megabytes (MB) for a song, so to download one using a standard modem would take several hours. By using the compression system developed by MPEG (The Moving Picture Experts Group) called MP3, a song can be compressed by a factor of 10 or 12. This means you can download music as an MP3 file that sounds almost as good as the original
When you download the MP3 file and play it, it sounds almost as good as the original file. With the AMILO notebook PC range, you can have your music collection with you all the time. Once you have downloaded an MP3 file you can expand it back to its original size and then record it on a writable CD so you can play it in a CD player.
