Optimization of the tape device management simplifies the reallocation and switching of devices between various BS2000 / VM2000 systems |
Current version: V3.0 In large computer centers with ever-increasing computing power, the amount of tasks that need to be performed for system operation is constantly growing. With the considerable number of device attaching and switching operations involved, tape device management plays an important part in multi-system configurations. In a multi-system configuration, it is typical that the tape devices be physically connected to more than one system. PROP-TPM simplifies the reallocation and switching of the devices between the various systems while making it more failsafe. It offers the tape manager new commands and information services. Operations can also be automated with the TPM automatic switching facility. PROP-TPM offers the following functions:- Tape device pool management in multi-system configurations
- Information services as decision support for device switching
