SHC-OSD provides information services and commands for the control of the Symmetrix functions SRDF and TimeFinder as well as the SnapView functions of FibreCAT CX. |
The Symmetrix SRDF (Symmetrix Remote Data Facility) product family makes it possible to copy data to other (remote) Symmetrix systems. The Symmetrix TimeFinder product family permits the creation of additional volume copies within a Symmetrix system, which - once split - can be processed separately.
SHC-OSD provides selected information about the Symmetrix configuration as well as about the current status of SRDF and TimeFinder processing.
In SRDF copying modes can be set, specifications as to behavior in the event of an error can be laid down and after an error has occurred the access paths to remote copied data can be enabled.
The commands for TimeFinder control enable you to control the entire TimeFinder product family, namely TimeFinder/Mirror (BCV), TimeFinder/Clone and TimeFinder/Snap.
Analog to the TimeFinder control functions of Symmetrix, the new 7.0 version provides similar functions for local mirroring and snap-based backup/restore for FibreCAT CX.
