| | BIOS version freeze |
Changes can be a mixed blessing. So, hold tight to your BIOS ! |
What applies to components also applies to BIOS versions. The more BIOS versions you have in your IT environment, the higher the complexity. It is therefore essential that your environment should have exactly the BIOS version that was specified for the sample system. This prevents the customer from carrying out time-consuming BIOS qualification tests which could last several weeks. Furthermore, uniform BIOS versions guarantee the functionality of critical applications.
If you want us to freeze the BIOS version, we will be happy to do so. You will be notified when we are about to change the BIOS for your systemboard. If a project has a frozen BIOS version, we will not change it for these projects. You will receive a summary of upcoming changes, including the reasons for them. You then control the decision of whether or not to switch to the new BIOS version. For further details see the Announcement of BIOS changes page.
