Linked-in database handler for SESAM/SQL
|
Current version: V5.0
SESAM/SQL-LINK is an optional product for all variants of the SESAM/SQL-Server (BS2000/OSD) database system. It permits particularly efficient SESAM database processing, using the linked-in database handler.
The database requests of a user program are executed by the database handler (DBH). SESAM/SQL is available as a service task central to all SESAM user programs executing in parallel (independent DBH). Under SESAM/SQL-LINK, however, user program and DBH are bound together (linked-in DBH). The program can contain either CALL-DML or SQL calls.
The program and the linked-in DBH run in a single task. Hence, no time is spent on inter-task communication when a database operation is requested. In addition, the database handler manages the requests of only one user program. These features of SESAM/SQL-LINK mean that the time required for a database operation to be executed is reduced.
