Wprint supports printing in a client/server Windows environment
|
Wprint is designed to efficiently complete the basic Windows operating system, adding the key functionality & security features of a robust output management system. Wprint supports network infrastructures with connected network and PC printers on which the results of the individual user's work, such as text documents, reports, graphics, or tables, are printed. Wprint (MS-DOS) V2.0 is a client/server application for distributed printing in a Microsoft DOS/Windows network environment. Xprint and DPRINT are software partners of Wprint and offer extended functionality in UNIX and BS2000/OSD environments respectively. Wprint-Client enables PC users to send print requests to any printer in their network. By selecting a printer from the Windows Print Manager list, a PC user can print jobs on remote printers from any Windows application (Windows 3.1x/95/98). Wprint-Server provides a simple and convenient means of sharing printers connected to PCs. Wprint-Server can run as a DOS process in order to enable Xprint users to print via ports. Running as a Windows 3.1x/95/98 background process, Wprint-Server can make full use of the Windows Print Manager and extend access for Xprint users to all printers that are shared via the Windows Print Manager (Windows for Workgroups, Novell NetWare ...). |
