Automated management with rule-based monitoring |
EventAdmin monitors server resources on the basis of rules in which monitoring parameters (such as thresholds) are defined and combined into sets of regulations. The fulfilling of a rule and/or rule set represents an event, and configurable reactions can be initiated as required based on these events. In the case of a persistent heavy load, for example, an additional CPU might be taken automatically from the ESCoD pool or the PRIMEPOWER server partitions adjusted via dynamic reconfiguration. As soon as the peak has passed, the ESCoD CPU migrates back into the pool, or the system board is reassigned as “unallocated”. EventAdmin thus makes it possible to automate resources and system management tasks.
Professional supervision
Events are communicated automatically to PRIMEPOWER ServerView and Teleservice and can be used to automate system resources and management by call of reaction scripts. Enhanced Event Management closely collaborates with the diagnostic system and provides a convenient graphical user interface. This GUI integrates seamlessly into the PRIMEPOWER ServerView administration tool, providing a homogeneous environment. |
