CMX enables PRIMEPOWER systems to be configured as software routers for IP. This additional benefit for UNIX systems means that, in many cases, a separate hardware router is no longer necessary. CMX can use direct data circuits, X.25, ISDN, frame relay and analog telephone networks as WANs and can communicate with other routers available on the market. All clients / terminal devices (PCs or servers) connected to a TCP/IP-based LAN gain access to these networks via the UNIX system equipped with CMX. CMX incorporates a user-friendly interface for configuring and starting up network components (communications controllers and CCPs), and provides extensive diagnostic aids. The license for the appropriate driver software, CCP-WAN-LINK or CCP-ISDN-LINK, is included when you purchase a controller. |
