CCP-WAN-LINK supplies the communications protocols for connecting PRIMEPOWER systems to public and private WANs |
Application Scenarios
- CCP-WAN-LINK makes it possible to communicate with different partners using multiple protocols over a single network interface on a communications controller.
- CCP-WAN-LINK supports the TCP/IP, SNA and X.25 native protocols. Multiple protocol support is especially useful for X.25, allowing different partners over one X.25 network interface.
- PRIMEPOWER systems make good communications servers since up to four WAN controllers can be supported in a system, each controller supporting up to four network interfaces.
- A user-friendly interface is available for configuring and operating the software. Comprehensive statistics and diagnostic and trace information are easy to generate, which helps reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO).
Connection to a Packet-Switched Data Network (PSDN)- CCP-WAN-LINK can be implemented practically anywhere in the world since the majority of countries support packet-switched data networks with good geographic coverage.
- The alternate routing facility can greatly improve system network reliability.
Connection to a Frame Relay Network - Frame relay networks are offered by many different network providers. CCP-WAN-LINK supports the frame relay protocols and can thus be implemented in any such network.
- CCP-WAN-LINK offers a significant improvement in performance with frame relay in comparison to X.25 because there is much less protocol overhead to be transported.
OSI and TRANSDATA NEA networks- For these connections the product CCP-OSI/NEA is necessary.
