Transactional JCA Adapter for CICS |
This tutorial will introduce you how to use BeanConnect for connecting J2EE Application Server based applications with a z/OS based application. You will need a basic knowledge about EJBs and the Java programming language. Furthermore, you should be familiar with CICS.

| The use of BeanConnect will be demonstrated by implementing some small and easy samples. You will learn how to employ Outbound Communication, which means calling a transaction in a CICS application from a remote EJB, as well as how to send a message from a CICS program to a Message-Driven Bean what is called Inbound Communication. |
Hardware requisites:
- Minimum 512 MB RAM, 1024 MB recommended
- 1 GB free space on your hard disc
- 2 GHz processor
Software requisites:
- JavaTM JDK 1.4.2 or higher
- Oracle OC4J 10.1.3
- Oracle JDeveloper10g 10.1.3
- BeanConnect for CICS V2.0
- IBM Communications Server for Windows

| These software products are free or available in free evaluation versions except the IBM Communications Server for Windows. The links for downloading the free software are specified in the tutorial. For testing the EJBs it is necessary that the IBM Communications Server for Windows has been installed. The platform for this tutorial is Microsoft WindowsXP. |
