| The Scalar 10K library is for enterprise-wide consolidated backup tasks, redefining the ways in which automated storage systems are purchased and used. This system solves the capacity problems of data centers with its easy scalability: Scalar 10K is supplied with an "extra slot capacity", which can be activated by software keys in increments of 100 |
or 500 slots. As a "capacity-on-demand library" a cost-free expansion of the system is performed only when most of the installed slots have been activated.
With the SAN-attached drives, the necessary infrastructure for SAN integration is supplied at the same time, i.e. the Scalar Networking Controller is automatically integrated into the library.
