Built on standard PRIMERGY BX Blade Servers and running independently of operating systems and applications, FlexFrame Infrastructure adds a software layer, the ServerView PAN Manager. This dynamic resource manager takes full control of industry-standard server, virtualized servers and I/O resources. Representing a new management approach, this layer provides an umbrella framework for the entire infrastructure, uniting the storage pool, network pool and server pool.
PRIMERGY BX600
The PRIMERGY BX600 Blade Server is a highly scalable 19-inch rack server system that occupies 7 height units (U) and has a modular infrastructure for accommodating highly compact server blades with AMD and Intel processor architecture. Due to their high performance PRIMERGY BX600 server blades are qualified for sophisticated tasks in datacenter environments, such as database or application servers, web servers or communication servers with heavy load profiles.
ServerView® PAN Manager
ServerView PAN Manager creates and manages pools of compute, storage, and network resources that can be dynamically allocated as needed. With ServerView PAN Manager, a server is no longer a physical device with a specific hardware configuration, operating system, application and revision level – it is a software-based definition that can be dynamically assigned to processors and memory as needed. ServerView PAN Manager enables a simplified way to configure, allocate, repurpose and manage both physical servers and virtual machines through a single, uniform management interface.
Virtual machines and physical servers have automatic access to a complete range of services, including N+1 failover, N+1 disaster recovery, resource pools, live migration, secure partitioning and other PAN capabilities.
